Councilman Mark Rodriguez is on the Nov 3rd General Election ballot for Mayor of Sierra Vista, AZ!
I am a Son, a Dad, a Tata (grandfather), a Husband, a Patriot and a Combat Veteran that proudly served our great country for 21 years as a Soldier. I have since then been working as a government contract instructor on Fort Huachuca for the last 9 years. That 30 year career of serving our country in combat and in peace time has given me the leadership and problem solving skills necessary to be an effective city councilman for over five years now.
The people of our city know they can call on me whenever they have an issue they need solved or brought attention to. Whether its visiting local businesses, attending a function or speaking at a school, maintenance issues at local parks, roads that need attention, streetlights that have gone out, sidewalks that are unsafe, locations that are not ADA compliant, businesses who need assistance, Veterans who need assistance, elderly who need assistance or ideas that our youth want brought to fruition, I have been there to work on all of those things. I have also taken every opportunity to ensure that our state and federal officials understand the needs of our community and neighboring Fort Huachuca.
Our city needs a leader who will always represent them, fight for them, have their best interests in mind, protect their families and always be accessible. Since day one as a councilman, I have done those things and made it my mission to ensure that our community sees me at local events, inside their places of business and even at their front door. I can honestly and proudly say that I have been more present than any other local elected official in our community. As Mayor I will hold our councilmembers to that same standard, because you shouldn't see or hear of them for the first time until it's a campaign year.
As non-partisan elected officials, we are the voice of the people that elect us and we should work diligently and efficiently for them regardless of their personal political affiliations or beliefs. Much like I have done in my time as a Councilman, as Mayor I will always work for the people and not for a party.
I appreciate your support and I look forward to serving you as the next mayor of Sierra Vista!
